MISSING PERSON

 Tim Weltermann, born Aug. 24.1978, is missing.

 

He started in a canoe (two-seater, model Prijon-Excursion), for an Atlantic crossing from the Canary Islands (Gran Canaria) on October 26th., 2003.

He intended to arrive in Antigua (West Indies) within 80 days. The last contact with him via Satellite telephone was on November 04th., 2003. At this time his position was 25.33 North and 19.33 West and he mentioned he might need more time for the crossing than estimated, encountering headwinds and calm days.

 Tim started his journey with the following equipment:

·         Canoe, "Prijon Excursion", colour green, aluminium mast installed on the front seat, 2 red Outriggers, two white sails (1 Opti sail and small stormsail), 2 paddles, radar reflector,

·         Iridium satellite phone Motorola, obviously not charged long enough and most likely without power.

·         1 Handheld GPS GARMIN GEKO 101, yellow

·         1 Osmosis watermaker KATADYN

·         2 Sea-anchors

·         1 red Lifewest

·         several red watertight bags

·         several plastic containers for food

·         1 Bilgepump

·         many other small items incl. fishing gear

·         1 Nico distress signal

·         1 Flash
